Good news indeed, my friends: I was able to download the Linintosh
package. It made me glad to have had something to do today as I am in
the midst of a long Saturday at work babysitting a machine whilst
occaisionally collecting performance datum. Good times.

I am looking forward to giving this process a go, although it will
probably no occur for the next couple of weeks, as my free time is in
demand.

I had a bit of an out of body experience, as I used my computer at work
teathered to a mobile phone to remote a computer in my workspace to give a
shot at downloading the Linintosh package to yet another computer hosting
my network attached storage so that I could revive my ancient and ailing
Macintosh. I was travelling miles without leaving my body, Digitally
astral projecting myself to my target and while doing so I began to believe
that my silver cord had a CAT-5 connection on the end.

Not a bad start really. Established a foothold on retro-net Webspace
and Gopherspace from my Meatspace workspace in a single afternoon. The
backstory goes a little something along the lines of this:

A week ago my buddy sent me some digital audio cards for a Macintosh
that he'd been hoarding for some time. That prompted me to actually
place an old Mac that I had in the work space back into service. Even
though the old box had no OS on her, I knew I already had the answer.
I had read all about it in one of my favorite reads: 300 BAUD Magazine.

The first issue was like magic, really. I had gambled and won big
because the magazine aligned directly to my style and content
preferences, but the big haul was the article about Linintosh. I knew
I'd be using Gavo's method to my advantage. I hope that I will still
be able to at some point. It seemed that the all the resources for
the Linintosh package had dried up as I tried to download them this
week.

I am not complaining though. Nothing should be expected to be quick
in the retro world, and I am OK with that because of my experinces with
building my Apple IIe. Parts and answers come in their own time, like
a Jungian latticework of synchronicity. I'm hoping eventually I will
come across that file, though. But there's still plenty to keep me
entertained. I guess that's why I like tinkering on the old stuff,
because you can always shift your focus to something else that needs
doing.
